Pinto Unicorn
A patchwork-coated plains unicorn that blasts foes with rainbow light and conjures false images of itself to lure hunters into wasting their shots.
Appearance
Its hide is a random patchwork of colors, and its eyes are usually brown, sometimes green or yellow. Sages call it a chromacorn.
Combat
As many as five times daily it fires prismatic spray from its horn, cast at 11th level. Three times a day it can also weave an advanced illusion at the same level, usually a picture of itself grazing a short way off. The decoy draws arrows and spells from hidden hunters and humanoids and gives away their positions.
Habitat and Society
Pintos pair for life and travel as couples or families across temperate plains. Rather than claim land, families share wide ranges and keep moving so no patch is grazed bare. Anyone pure of heart, of either sex, may ride one.
Ecology
Like sylvan unicorns, they battle monsters that despoil their country. Their horns are used in potions of rainbow hues.
