A nymph's dazzling beauty wrapped around a rotten heart, the unseelie nymph enslaves admirers with a glance, withers those who stay near her, and turns paradise into wasteland.
Unseelie nymphs are twisted, malicious relatives of other nymphs who live to corrupt everything good and lovely in nature. They keep their family's near-supernatural looks: slender yet full figures, delicate features, lustrous hair, full lips and flawless skin, dressed in loose robes that glitter with shifting colors. Only a fleeting, calculating smile or a hard flash in the eyes hints at what lies beneath, and few see past the beauty. They are highly intelligent and speak their own tongue, the language of the fey, the common tongue, and the speech of evil fey spirits such as nightshades.
They carry no weapons and need none. Anyone, male or female, who sees one saves vs. spell at -2 or falls hopelessly in love; even elves and half-elves have their usual charm resistance cut by 15%. The smitten make the nymph the center of their world, doing anything for her short of suicide or directly breaking a core tenet of their beliefs, and they refuse to leave her side and fight to protect her. A victim who saves sees her true nature but will struggle to convince charmed friends.
Her presence also corrupts the land, ruining 5 square miles within 4 months into a barren, nightmarish mockery of what was there. Nothing grows there again even after she leaves. Only limited wish or wish restores such land, although a hierophant druid of 16th level or higher who makes it his home reverses the damage in 2d6 months.
Companions decay too. Each week near her costs 1 Charisma and 1 point of the character's prime requisite, as age, sickness and wasting take hold, so a warrior loses Strength. Limited wish or wish reverses this fully; restoration returns 1d4 Charisma and 1d2 prime requisite points at once.
She lets her thralls do the fighting. Without them she escapes by dimension door, and that power plus her strong magic resistance makes her hard to pin down.
Hating beauty and goodness, unseelie nymphs move into the loveliest places specifically to ruin them, then seek the next. They usually live alone with their charmed entourage for protection and amusement, but 2d4 may unite to corrupt the work of a powerful druid or druidic circle.
Left alone, they devastate the natural world, which makes them sworn foes of rangers, druidic circles and priests of nature deities.
