A primal beast-god freed from a glacier by a falling star, Rimehowl pounds foes with great fists, breathes killing ice and roars in the mountain storms.
Noblest of a primeval world's seven ancient gods, Rimehowl personifies the spirit of beasts. Frozen for ages inside a vast glacier, he was freed when a great meteor struck. He dwells on a snowy plateau below a towering peak.
He batters enemies with huge fists, his stronger right arm hitting harder than the left, then follows with a savage bite. Up to 20 times a day, with a round's pause between, he breathes a cone of freezing air 60 feet long and 30 feet wide for 20d10 (save vs. breath for half). Six times a day he can call down an ice strike, a flame strike whose damage is cold instead. Survivors of either attack suffer a +2 initiative penalty the next round as they shake off the chill. Cold and electricity cannot harm him, and acid and poison deal him only half damage.
Solitary and legendary, he is worshiped by tundra tribes, nomads and warriors, and as lord of beasts by rangers, druids, beast lords and some specialty priests. Because his roars echo through the peaks during violent thunderstorms, the tribes call him the Thunder Lord. Periodically, usually on a new moon evening, they leave gifts on a great altar deep in the maze of glacial caves that forms his lair.
