Lesser Snow Golem

This golem is a lesser version of a greater golem. Its maker can shape it however they like, though it usually appears as a figure in armor and helmet. It never bears a weapon and cannot talk. It stands as tall as other golems but weighs much less, being made of snow.

It fights like other golems, with these additions. For lifting, hurling or smashing things it has Strength 19. Only magical weapons can strike it. Water and cold do it no harm; each die of damage such an attack would deal instead restores 1 hit point. Fire affects it as though it were a 12-HD human fighter, saving throws included.

If it is holding a creature when electricity hits it, the golem takes nothing while its captive takes full damage. If it touches no one, the electricity damages it normally.

Once every five rounds it can breathe a cone of cold as a 10th-level mage. A transmute stone to snow spell slows it for 2d6 rounds.

These mindless automatons follow a few simple orders and are entirely ruled by whoever made them. Lacking any society, they need no food, air or sleep.

Making one requires a wizard of 15th level or higher, working in either of two ways: carve snow and then harden it with transmute snow to stone (about four weeks), or harden a block first and carve the stone (six weeks). The body weighs roughly 600 pounds. Materials and components cost 45,000 gp, and the required spells are wish, cone of cold, polymorph any object, permanency and transmute snow to stone.
