Sleep given form, this monocled gentleman lies forever in a glass coffin in the dream city, whispering lullabies that topple heroes and commands that bend their waking lives.
Hypnos is the embodiment of sleep and alone among the lords of the court of nightmares in never rising from his glass bed. He looks like a tall gentleman of high rank in flawlessly tailored suits, his dark hair and heavy mustache trimmed to perfection; a monocle, chained in gold to his waistcoat pocket, sits over his right eye. He lies in endless slumber inside a glass coffin, arms crossed peacefully on his chest. That monocled eye alone stays open, never blinking, glittering with a manic light. He looks dead but is not undead.
His lips never move, yet his voice sighs through every hall of his solitary tower like a chilly fall breeze, mocking wanderers and dreamers and egging them toward savage violence.
Hypnos himself has no physical attacks. His lair, the Tower of Slumber in the dream city, is well protected by its own guards and traps, and only a wanderer who gets past them forces him to use his powers. Both he and his coffin are immune to weapons below +3 enchantment; the coffin can absorb 40 hit points of damage. He can gate in an ennui or another servant whenever he needs protection.
Three times a day he can murmur a drowsy lullaby, aimed into a single dreamscape or through his tower. Anyone in range who fails a save vs. spell slumbers for 1d6+1 turns; dispel magic wakes a victim early. Wanderers who succumb find their dream-selves hurled into a dreamscape, while dreamers who fail lie paralyzed as their real bodies sink into coma until it ends.
He is also a master mesmerist, able to dominate up to six targets at once. Each target needs a Wisdom check with a -6 modifier to resist. A failed dreamer carries one subconscious command into the waking world, which can be anything; an order against the victim's alignment allows a second Wisdom check, at -2, to shake it off. A failed wanderer behaves as though charmed until released or the victim makes the -6 Wisdom check, which can be tried once per turn.
He dwells in the Tower of Slumber, a place that seems as alive as its master and part of him.
Hypnos dines on nightmares of defeat and shame. He fills sleep with scenes where the dreamer falls short and is thwarted again and again, grinding down their self-worth night after night, and carefully tends his dreamers to ensure a rich harvest of shame.
