The White Stag
The red-eyed, snow-white servant of the elven god of long life, whose appearance heralds great events and whose trail leads followers to divine visions.
Appearance
The White Stag is an enormous, powerfully muscled beast, white as fresh snow, with eyes that glow red. Its master is the elven god of longevity, and and witnesses claim its holy aura can be felt like a physical presence by anyone who sees it.
Combat
It fights like any great stag, goring with its antlers and lashing out with its forehooves. In the hidden elven island kingdom it faces no threat, but should enemies ever chase it, it can defend itself perfectly well.
Habitat and Society
Elves treat any sighting as an omen of momentous events, because anyone who follows the stag is invariably led to a spot where a vision awaits, or a direct message from their god. It appears wherever elves need wisdom and guidance. Some say that between errands it dwells in the mountain realm of the gods, crossing to the Prime Material Plane whenever the elven people face peril or have work for it. Being supernatural, it plays no part in the ecology of any world it visits.
