Two nuisance fey: squeakers, gangs of rock-throwing pests guarding tiny territories, and stwingers, adorable charm-sprites that swing from beards until their playmates pass out.
Squeakers are thought to be the result of a wizard's spell gone wrong. They are vaguely pixie-like humanoids with oversized heads on spindly bodies, naked and sexless. Their language of grunts, squeaks and whistles sounds random unless heard through magic, and they speak nothing else.
They fight only to pester. A squeaker band stays several yards away behind cover and pelts intruders with rocks, sticks and stones, gaining +2 to hit with these familiar missiles. There is no plan to it: they throw at whoever is closest and scatter their shots widely rather than focusing on one foe. Anyone who chases them is led into another ambush of the same kind.
Squeakers turn up all over the world, untroubled by temperature but avoiding extreme climates. Leaderless yet organized like ants, they harass anyone who pushes too deep into territory they claim, usually no more than a mile on a side, which they patrol diligently. They neither eat nor seem to want anything, so they barely affect their surroundings, but they breed quickly and replace losses to predators, angry humanoids and monsters.
Stwingers are tiny humanoids, sickeningly cute, who speak pixie, brownie, elvish, dwarvish and gnomish. They live only for fun, and the most fun imaginable is swinging from a beard, which makes dwarves their favorite targets.
In 'combat', a stwinger releases a pheromone that charms everyone within 40 feet (save vs. breath weapon negates). It then dangles and swings from its charmed 'playmates' by their beards and long locks, tugging so enthusiastically that each victim loses 1 hit point per two rounds. A victim who drops below half hit points gets a second save at -4. Those who fail let it swing on until they reach 0 hp and fall unconscious; since a stwinger cannot swing on a body lying flat, nobody goes below 0.
Attacking a stwinger requires passing both a Charisma check and a Constitution check, though simply pulling one out of someone's hair needs no check. If a playmate's friends attack it, it tries to escape behind mirror image, which it can cast as many as three times daily. Convincing one that it is causing harm makes it stop.
Stwingers fly only short hops, from one playmate to the next. Once in three years the whole race convenes for ten days at a Great Meet, trading goods and pairing off. They want no treasure, but milking a stwinger's charm glands while it lives, or within an hour of death, provides an extract for a philter of love.
