Invisible, glass-edged luck spirits that drift over elven homelands, tipping fortune toward their charges and away from anyone who means them harm.
A kholiathra is a slim, see-through humanoid whose outline shows only as a faint glassy shimmer. Aloof by nature, they still know elvish and the common speech.
Invisibility is theirs at will, and they fly as easily as they walk; foes swinging at an unseen one suffer -4 to hit. Their true gift is luck: each round a kholiathra may nudge one roll by a creature within 20 feet up or down by 4 (attack, damage, save, ability check or reaction). They prefer to vanish and slip away; cornered, they strike with unseen blasts of force for 1d10.
Small bands live near elven communities, warding off lesser evils, heading off minor accidents and favoring chosen individuals. Few elves know they exist, yet much of their homeland's good fortune is the spirits' work. Needing no food or drink, kholiathra feed on sunlight, and in sunny glades they drop all caution to spin and dance through the air, a sight not soon forgotten.
Some say they are returned elven souls. Elven gods reputedly send them to bless births and battles, a hidden elven island kingdom lies under their protection, and many serve the elven moon goddess and her pantheon on an upper plane.
