Silent white mist foxes that guard groves of dead trees, breathing pale blue foxfire and melting into fog between bites.
These minor nature spirits are dainty foxes of pure white. Like a hoarfox, each exhales a constant pale blue foxfire, often spotted from far off.
Fiercely territorial, they fall on intruders by night in total silence. Being swift and nimble, they gain +3 on reaction rolls and bite twice a round for 1-4 plus 2 from the magical foxfire.
At will a fox can become vapor, nearly invisible in fog but for its glow. In battle, each round brings a 20% chance it turns to mist rather than attacking, and since both forms look alike, enemies only learn of the switch after the foxes strike again.
By night they haunt the dead trees of remote groves and empty fields; by day they lie as mist among trunks and logs. Destroy the grove and they die with it, fading to a thin curl of fog.
